On Monday at the Met Gala, Zoë Kravitz made quite a statement with her sheer metal mesh Saint Laurent dress, and that statement was “I look incredible.” This wasn’t a message that sat well with everyone, probably because they don’t have the necessary confidence to wear a visible thong on the red carpet.
Kravitz, however, definitely does and she really pulled the look off:
Comments about the High Fidelity actress’s clothing choice were noted by the star herself, who clapped back at the critics. The Instagram account Comments by Celebsscreenshot Kravitz’s response to a commenter who wrote on a picture of the celeb, “I don’t understand why they go practically naked. She’s gorgeous. Why does she feel the need to wear a dress like this??”
“Being uncomfortable with the human body is colonization / brainwashing,” Kravitz replied. “It’s just a body. We all got em.”
Well, that’s certainly true, though not everyone dresses their body as well as Kravitz does, or at least as well as her stylist Andrew Mukamal. Mukamal posted the Saint Laurent look on his Instagram account, as well as a picture of Kravitz’s rumored boyfriend Channing Tatum, meaning the alleged couple is sharing a stylist.
Tatum shared a sweet message about his look on Instagram as well, thanking Donatalla Versace for making his dreams come true.
“So 20 years ago (holy fuk) i was a kid stand in a room of what would be probably thousands of guys trying to get picked for the shows in Milan. God knows how many they actually saw. Hoping to get picked to walk in the spring show. I never got to walk for Versace in the maybe 6 or 7 seasons in went to the shows. But last night to get to wear this……. other worldly robe…….. and to wear the most classic Versace tux. Cut boxy like Gianni wore in the 90’s was beyond my wildest dreams. Donatella thank you so much for having and inviting and letting me wear such elegant and magical clothes. it was dream like. You are a legend!and a myth.”
Tatum definitely did justice to that Versace suit. It seems like being with Kravitz is making his sense of fashion better and better. He told Deadline in June that she even got him to give up Crocs.
“When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs, and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore,” he said.
“I was just trying to be a good friend, Chan,” Kravitz interjected into the convo.
“I get it, but I totally loved Crocs for a hot second, and in one hang she was like, you can’t ever do that again,” said Tatum. “And I said, ‘OK, fine.’”
If someone can get you to give up Crocs in the middle of summer, it must be love.
